Mind and soul

Is human only mind?

If yes what is the second voice?
Mind is rational, practical.. what is then spontaneous erratic consequence?

Mind is uni or bi or multi..

Is mind soul? Or mind tells us there is a soul?

Mind and soul are an amalgamation of yin yang.. a synergy of human and nature

Mind and soul.. keys to unlock human complexity..
Or simple humanity is complicated by mind and soul..

Humanity.. a quest to discover the composite elements.. mind and soul..

To My Friend

My Bubble Gum Friend..
My Philosopher..
My listener... and my scintillating damsel...
Words are mere illegible patterns on paper to describe you my demoiselle ...
I wish with each passing b'day we are always together and change together..

To Someone obscure

You are a simple creation
with simpler complexities
you stand aloof from universal redundancies
A being treading the common dark path
with joy and dismay but moving on......

You have learnt the ways but
you live your own
You are gripped with frailities
And thus so human...

Impelled by rationality and objectivity
failed by emotions
propelled by passions of sprightly youth
failed by custom

Your soul so replete with soft desires
let not rationality or objectivity
fail you, my dear
who can say where the tide of life
flows, only time...

May you steer ahead with
No shackles or fetters hindering you
to live a passionate and serene life......

Riling Habits

It is peculiar to realize after a lot of self reflection that I have strange habits. Now for a few it might seem boastful but in reality my habits have made me an annoying subject for more than few people around me. Reason motivates me to develop as an individual and grow into a socially more acceptable being but the devil in me loves my uncanny habits. Let me give you all an insight of these habits....they are

I ask a lot of questions predominantly judged as boring. And I expect people to answer me with the serious contemplation of the likes of Voltaire or Socrates... I think your sympathies are with the people I ask these questions to. Well moving on.. or maybe I can just pop one now which is bothering me since I watched inception which is " Do 'new' ideas originate incidentally or accidentally? or they really are an inception of the prowess of our minds....? " Another of my nasty and uncanny habit is to take things lightly.. and expect others to do the same. This habit results in making comments and remarks on people and about things mostly people are sensitive about which ensue my having a friend circle which is sparse and precludes me from having people with lower resistance to blatant mockery.

So well now we are enlightened with my habits a few of them here and you decide for yourself if they are appropriate to be coined as riling. But the point that bothers me now is to know about the uncanny habits of great people like Einstein, Plato, John Locke, Leonardo Da Vinci, Shakespeare etc .. and a next few days will be my exploration in this venture in which by far I have had no success. As far as my being annoying is concerned maybe it is good for my development as a person. And like my friend said " There is nothing right or wrong just perception". So my being uncanny gives me an aura different from the crowd and maybe the other perception is otherwise...

The world is a Mind’s Game and everyone plays that well
But, you my friend play the harmony of heart,
Man is not weak from within,
If he plays with the strings of his heart, in harmony with his true self
And the “game” will take care of itself...

I Am What I Am

I tread the path so full of worldly clamor,
i fear i'l lose myself in the countless voices,
voices around me and inside me question me;
blaring voices hurt me and still i carry on ...
i'm what i'm and i do not want to shield my eyes
solacing voices tell me to put on a shield
i still want to tread the path the way i am ;

i reflect back and question what is that i'm searching;
why the wounds are aching... but i still move on;

i move on as i trust ... someone obscure will come along ;
and all the bright voices will cease to exist...
the wait appears to be sorely lonely.....
still i move on... in hope ...
as this is what i'm ....

Undisputable Cartoons

Well i am doing post graduation and the blog title will question the relevance of the article. Cartoons sound rather frivolous at this age and stage of life. As percipient lets consider what the toddlers are watching now a days. In India popular cartoon channels are Cartoon Network, Pogo, Hungama, Nick, Disney channel and Jetix. Cartoon Network is still the leading channel with close competition from Pogo. Nick and Hungama are close competitors for the third position. The time slots given to various cartoon programmes is dominated by Disney series or many new Chinese and Japanese cartoons. If we examine closely a lot of these cartoons depict violence.

Toddlers watching violence at such tender age deters my notion that "cartoons are good for children". Cartoons like Flash blade, Flash Gordon, Ninja Turtles has great impact on the kids. I have personally witnessed how kids are willing to throw unacceptable tantrums to get the Ninja Swords or small weapons used by some famous cartoon characters.

The various facets that should be taken into account are Mental and psychological effects, Subliminal Messages, increased risk to children's safety and the marketing strategies of various companies that exploit the popularity of cartoons. Check Spelling

Psychologist suggest that children watching television more than 4 hours develop a retarded development of social interaction. A child develops personality which is influenced by parental nurturing as well as environment. It is essential to provide a healthy and serene surrounding.Subliminal Messaging as defined by the Oxford dictionary as"Below the threshold of conscious perception, inadequate to produce conscious awareness but able to evoke a response."These messages might adversely affect the behaviour of children when they are adult.The various accident cases which happen as children try to imitate the charaters is of grave concern.The various marketing strategies especially cartoon merchandise are a huge source of revenue.This is evident from the existing plethora of Harry Potter merchandise. The companies use various cartoons to promote their products. Children are infactuated and tend to buy these products and sometimes want to possess those products as status symbols. Its on us to decide now where to draw the line...

We ought to use discretion while kids watch various cartoons and efforts should be taken to modify unnecessary violence or subliminal messages in the cartoons.Every coin has two sides.A flip side to cartoons!!!
